April 2024

The Tourism Industry Association of Manitoba (TIAM) celebrated Tourism Week by welcoming 125 participants to their first annual conference and AGM held at the RBC Convention Centre in Winnipeg.

Over the previous year, in addition to planning for its inaugural AGM, TIAM’s acting board and founding members worked at identifying industry priorities and advocacy efforts. TIAM continues to grow as industry partners and operators join their membership roster, and announced their first Board of Directors.

March 2023

TIAM officially launches, incorporated, registered and ready to serve!

At the Manitoba-hosted ‘TIA Canada Town Hall’, Tuesday, March 7th, 2023, TIAM Director Pit Turenne presented our launch, next steps, value proposing, working foundational policies and how to join this movement: Strength in Numbers – Better Together!

Spring 2022

Tourism Industry Association of Manitoba Forms!

After 7 months of research, engagement and meetings, we confirmed the Manitoba tourism industry was ready for a leading voice for industry advocacy in our province, in strong collaboration with all tourism stakeholders in Manitoba. TIAM was officially created and moved forward with a working group and Founding Member membership opportunities. The initial goals included building a communications and outreach database, to advance the incorporation of the new association and build out advocacy priorities, relevant programs and meaningful partnerships.
