Premier’s Business and Jobs Council

Yesterday, the Manitoba government announced they’re adding three new subcommittees on tourism, workforce development and trade diversification to the Premier’s Business and Jobs Council to ensure its work continues to reflect Manitoba’s evolving economic priorities.

The government is drawing on the expertise of local business leaders to help us diversify trade. The new subcommittee on workforce development brings together the leaders of our post-secondary institutions to make sure Manitobans have the best training for good careers as we face the challenge of the federal government’s recent cuts to post-secondary education across the country. Additionally, the new subcommittee on tourism will help ensure that northern tourism grows alongside the potential Churchill Plus project.

We’re proud of TIAM Board Members who were invited to be part of this Premier’s Business and Jobs Council, serving on the Tourism subcommittee, including:

  • John Gunter, President and Chief Executive Officer of Frontiers North Adventures and TIAM Chair
  • Doug Stephen, President at WOW! Hospitality Concepts and TIAM Board Member
  • Pit Turenne, Owner and Operator of Aikens Lake Lodge and TIAM Board Member
